Framing is a way of displaying an object / picture while giving it a degree of protection from dust etc.
I specialise in framing needlework i.e.. Cross Stitches and Tapestries etc. Although time consuming, I appreciate the stitcher has probably spent many (sometimes hundreds of) hours on their work and want it to be stretched and looked after with the same amount of care as they have taken sewing them.
MOULDINGS
Because there is a huge choice of Frame Mouldings I will not even attempt to put them on my own website but will direct you to companies that specialise in them. (Click here)
MOUNTS
Obviously the decision as to whether to have a mount is entirely down to personal choice. However using a mount does space the needlework away from the glass, therefore the stitching will not be flattened against the glass although if mount(s) are not desired the same effect can be achieved with plastic spacers.
Although it is common to cut the mount ‘square’, circular or oval I can cut special shapes where the work would benefit from it (see gallery)
I am quite happy to supply mounts to artists.
